I’m TJ Sopoci, a Chicago-based photographer focused on portraits, events, and brand storytelling. My approach is simple: capture the energy of a moment without forcing it. I’m interested in the atmosphere, the small details, and the expressions that tell a story more honestly than anything staged ever could. The goal is always to create images that feel natural, timeless, and true.

Photography, for me, is about connection—between people, places, and the stories that shape them. Every shoot is an opportunity to listen first, then translate that feeling into images. Whether documenting a milestone, collaborating with a brand, or making portraits that reflect someone as they really are, I bring a thoughtful eye and a relaxed presence to every project.

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, whether through photography, filmmaking, or comedy. That perspective shapes the way I work: blending curiosity, creativity, and a sense of ease to create something genuine. The result is work that doesn’t just capture how things looked, but how they felt in the moment.

I've had work published in GQ in several countries as well as the Chicago Reader.  My feature length film debut in "The Tunnel" will be on streaming in 2025.
